Between many fascinating places of natural beauty and first-class scientific curiosity in Slovakia, one deserves special attention. Dobsinska Ice Cave (Dobšinská ľadová jaskyňa) is partly filled with an ice body that is several thousand years old. The cave is located in the Slovak Paradise National Park with the entrance at 969 m a.s.l. The cave length is 1,491 m, and the vertical span is 75 m. The mean annual temperature is -0.4 – -1.0°C in the glaciated part of the cave named the Great Hall.
